Local Impact

Nearly 35 million Americans are at-risk for hunger.

Since 1989, Taste of the Nation in San Diego has raised $461,950 for hunger relief charities locally and nationally.

100% of San Diego’s Taste of the Nation ticket sales benefit participating hunger relief organizations.

How we do it:
  • The organizing committee consists of unpaid volunteers.
  • Corporate sponsors pay for the event overhead

2003 beneficiaries:

•ACCION San Diego

is a micro-enterprise organization that provides economic opportunity to low-income, self-employed men and women by offering business credit and support to build their businesses, increase their family income and create jobs in their communities.
